What is self-storage and how does it work?

Renting a storage unit is a great solution to clear up some needed space at home, or it’s a great solution if you are looking to downsize and need extra space.

How much does self – storage cost?

Our rates vary between storage sizes and types of storage. For more information about our pricing check out our rates page. Please contact us if you have any questions about renting a unit.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to access items more easily. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored. Please refer to the storage tips page for more information.

What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?

Do we offer a free moving truck?

Unfortunately, we do not offer moving trucks, but our office can provide some local recommendations.

How much notice do I need to provide before moving out?

We ask that you give us at least 10 days’ notice before moving out. You can stop by our local office or give us a text or a call when you are ready to move out.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are Mon-Fri 10am-3pm, and Sat. 9am-1pm. We are closed on Sundays.

What does climate- control mean?

There are two types of self-storage units: conventional (non- climate controlled) or climate – controlled (temperature controlled) We offer special climate – controlled storage units that provide a constant temperature range as well as non-climate control units.

What storage rental options are available?

We offer a wide range of self- storage options from 5x10 size units all the way up to 10x30 storage units equipped for larger scale moving and storage.

When can I access my storage unit?

You have access to your storage unit 24 hours/day, 365 days a year.

How can I pay my bill?

Click on the pay bill link on the top right – hand corner on our website to make online payment, or you can speak with a location manager by phone or in person to pay by cash, check, or any other major credit card. (Excluding American Express)

Is there a security deposit?

No, while other companies may charge a security deposit or maintenance fees there is no security deposit with Lighthouse Self Storage.

Where are your storage locations?

We have locations in the following areas: Lighthouse Self Storage in Selbyville DE, and Four Seasons at our West Ocean City location.

Can I store a Boat or RV?

Yes, we can provide indoor Boat & RV storage at our sister location – Lighthouse Business Park location at 13202 Handy Lane in Bishopville, MD. Call our office for more information. 302-988-0075.
